Fantastic displays of fruit, vegetables and flowers along with a hotly contested cake competition made for an impressive and really fun day out down at the allotments yesterday. And who would have thought that snail racing could be so thrilling – more than 30 people shouting, cheering (and hysterically laughing) at the creme de la creme of our local snails ‘hurtling’ towards the finishing line. Great fun.
Many thanks for all those who entered and attended. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. And a special thanks to the committee who gave up their free time to organise the event and the judges who travelled to help us select the best entries. Cheers all!
The next get together will be the last Sunday of October (27th) when we will all have the opportunity to show off our pumpkins in the Southern Allotment Pumpkin display.
