  1. Hello Chris and other Southern Allotment people.
I’ve just had a look at your website after writing a blog post which reminded me of the allotments. It’s a nice looking site and I’m glad things seem to be going well there. I’ve included a link here to the blog post in question. I have written other posts which are more vegetable / garden related! Generally the blog, called Flat Earth, Big Sky, is about the business of moving from city to country. It’s nearly a year since we left Manchester and the allotments so we are fairly well settled in here. If anyone is interested in reading the blog, the link is above and the most recent post is here:

  2. Hi, could you let me know where I can get a delivery of manure from please? I saw a note on the main gate but this is for bags only .

    Thanks

  3. John here from Hough End Allotments, Mauldeth Road West.

I have a large surplus of well rotted manure which needs removing from our allotments asap. At a guess I would say there is about 4 tonnes.
You will have to provide transportation.

If you are interested, please contact me to make arrangements.

    Regards

    John

  5. Hello,
I am recently retired. I lived in London 12 years ago and had an allotment there for several years and enjoyed it immensely. I now have lots of spare time and would love to grow my own vegetables and fruit once more.
I am fit and able for my age. It would be very good exercise, and I enjoy the social aspect as well.

  6. Hello, I’m an undergraduate geography student at the University of Manchester, and am carrying out my dissertation on the benefits of urban allotment gardening. Would anyone from your allotment association be available to give me a 10 minute interview on the subject? I can easily come down to your allotment site if that makes it easier.

  7. Hello,

I heard that we will be getting an elecricity supply for plot holders to use. Is there any truth to this? If so when can we expect it to be installed.

    thanks

    • Angelo
Yes we have an electricity supply in the shed to enable us to use the facilities there more, it is not for any other use.

  8. Hello,

Please may I join your waiting list. I used to be a keen gardening, growing my own vegetables when I had my garden plot, but since moving to Manchester I really miss home grown food. I would also enjoy the social aspects of looking after an allotment, and contributing to the Society.

    • Hi Ann, thanks for contacting us – I will pass your email onto the lettings manager who will contact you separately. Best, Craig
